Buying gaming gift cards in Zimbabwe with EcoCash
Which platforms you can actually fund from Zimbabwe, which ones have gaps, and how paying with EcoCash in US dollars works from prompt to code.
Almost every platform a gamer in Zimbabwe wants to spend money on asks for a card most local banks do not issue. None of them run a Zimbabwean store, so there is no local billing to fall back on either.

A gift card sidesteps both. You fund the account in its own country's currency and buy with the balance, and the platform never has to know anything about your bank.
What you can fund today
PC first, because it is the easiest. Steam wallet codes work for US and UK accounts, and a Steam wallet is the most flexible balance in gaming: it buys anything on the store, including pre-orders.
For console, PlayStation Store cards cover South Africa, the UK and the US, which between them is where most PSN accounts around here are registered. Xbox is thinner. Xbox cards are worth checking against the country on your Microsoft account rather than assumed, and find the country on your Microsoft account is the check.
Beyond the three consoles there are app store cards, subscriptions and mobile game top-ups, which is a much longer list than people expect. All brands is the live version, and it is the only honest one, because stock moves weekly.
And what you cannot
Battle.net, Epic and EA app balance are not things we sell. Where a game is on more than one store, the store you can fund is usually the store to buy it on.
Mobile top-ups are a different shape again. Free Fire, PUBG and the rest go to a player ID rather than a country, which is a much easier thing to get wrong than a region. Top-ups and player IDs covers it.
Paying with EcoCash
Every price here is in US dollars and it is the full price. Nothing is added at the end.
At checkout you choose EcoCash and enter your number as 07XXXXXXXX. A prompt goes to your phone, you approve it with your PIN, and the order page updates itself when the money lands. The code then appears on screen and stays in your Loot Vault.
If no prompt arrives, nothing is charged and the order expires on its own. Paying with EcoCash has the short list of things to check. Your email address needs to be verified before a first purchase, so it is worth doing that before the thing you want goes on sale.
Why the region question comes up every time
A gift card is cut for one country's store. A UK PlayStation card will not open a South African one. Steam checks the store country on your account, Microsoft checks the country on your profile, and Apple will not let an account's country change while there is balance on it.
So the question is never which country you live in. It is which country the account was registered in, and the answer is often not the one people assume. What is an account region is the short version; which countries we sell gift cards for is the map.
Buying safely
Buy where the product, the region, the delivery and the refund terms are written down before you pay. Codes here appear in your Loot Vault rather than in a message thread, and a code that genuinely fails is covered by the Loot Guarantee.
One rule worth more than all of this: nobody needs your account password or a verification code to give you a gift card. Anyone asking for either is not selling you one. Keeping your codes safe goes further.
Where to go next
All brands for the full shelf, deals for what is discounted this week, or pre-ordering a game when your bank card will not work abroad if there is a specific release you are saving for.
