Why prices are in US dollars
What you see is what you pay, and how the price of a foreign card is worked out.
Every price on Gemworks is in US dollars, and it's the full price. There is no fee added at the end.
Why USD
Most cards are bought in another currency: rands, pounds, euros. Pricing everything in dollars means one number that doesn't move while you shop.
Why a R500 card isn't exactly R500 in dollars
The price covers what the card costs us, the payment fee, and a small margin that keeps the store running. That's why a R500 PlayStation card shows a dollar price a little above the straight exchange rate.
Hot Deals
When our supplier discounts a brand, we pass most of that on and label it a Hot Deal, with the old price struck through.
